When my symptoms returned in 2025 — including leg heaviness, numbness, tingling and gait changes — he again took a thoughtful and conservative approach. We tried non-surgical options first before proceeding to an L4-L5 TLIF. I truly appreciated that he does not rush into surgery and carefully considers what’s in the patient’s long-term best interest. My wifes back was hurting her bad. She had been seeing a pain management doctor who was giving her shots every 3 or 4 weeks saying it would take care of the pain. Saw Dr. Johan, he told us right away shots would not do it, she needed surgery, told us exactly what needed to be done and got her in in s couple of weeks, did surgery, a tough surgery, but had to be done, and after some recovery, she is doing good. Dr Johan and his staff are the BEST.no nonsense, no smoke and mirrors, just straight talk about what needs to be done... read more

Have severe pain at my T7 after a failed kyphoplasty. Asked what's causing my pain. Microbursts was answer. Can't evaluate? This is life ruining. Takes low road and gets a paycheck. Bye, bye. Standing mri? Avoid this non caring dr. Dr?

Dr. Johans, did my L4 L5 fusion and a laminectomy (I think that's what it's called lol). I have been in pain for over 10 years. He did absolutely amazing! I would recommend him to anyone, he is a real down to earth doctor!! He actually listens to you! I have been pain free for 3months now, and I feel like I can live again and do what I want to do again and feel normal! Thank you a million times over!!!!!!
