I had an accident on a job site in 2013. Which resulted in a 5 level Cervical fussion. Dr Johans is an amazing surgeon. He explained every thing to me about why the procedure was necessary. He is a very honest straight forward Dr, and the monly surgeon that I would recommend. That was 13 years ago. I came down from Fairbanks Ak because lumbar problems. Dr Johans has performed surgery on my herniated disc twice now, both times due to me injuring my back. Prior to surgery, I was in an immense amount of pain. Immediately after, completely pain free. He is a pure magician when it comes to neurosurgery and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with such an important part of my body. Dr. Tim Johans was very personable and went through my MRI with me and thoroughly explained what my problems were. He made suggestions on different procedures, the processes and the outcomes. He made me feel very comfortable and safe on any of the procedures I chose. I felt that he was very knowledgeable and experienced and skilled at what he did.

I had a lumbar laminectomy and microdiscectomy by Dr. Johans at Treasure Valley Hospital on 8/19/2025. I can’t say that the entire process was painless, because my back was hurting like hell before the surgery, and I could barely walk at all. Dr. Johans and his entire staff did everything possible to make my procedure as straightforward and anxiety-free as they could.
