Sharp, caring, patient. Dr Joseph listened to all my concerns and took the time to discuss everything. Having been through colon cancer, I was extremely careful in my choice of a gastroenterologist. I feel fortunate to have found him.
Unfortunately I was running a little late to my appointment yesterday. I was unable to leave work on time and the trains weren't running as frequently since it was the middle of the day. I called the office to let them know I was running a little late and they told me there was a 15 minute grace period. I made it there in 16 minutes and the receptionist was just about to give me paperwork until one of the nurses called and told her they would not see me. At Gotham Medical Associates, we strive to provide the best care for our patients and we are able to do so by enforcing our late policy. This policy exists to ensure that myself and the other doctors in the practice do not take time from other patients who arrive on time. I apologize that you were not able to be seen on Friday, but hope you will allow me to address your health concerns in the future.
I arrived 2 minutes outside of the grace period and was turned away. I had called from the car to let them know about the terrible traffic. They waited until I arrived to let me know they cancelled my appt. I explained that I came into the city from my home an hour and half away just for this appt. I was in tears and asked that I speak with the dr to explain my situation. The receptionist said he was too busy to speak with me.
I had an excellent experience with Dr. Joseph, I saw him in his office for a medical history. He was able to fit me in for a colonoscopy 10 days later. Everything went smoothly. Dr. Joseph is a very considerate doctor, he has a very nice personality. His office staff are awesome.

Dr Joseph is insightful, empathetic, and a clearly skilled clinician. He takes to heart your unique case and utilizes all possible avenues to achieve an understanding of what's ailing you and what's most likely to help. I know his job must be extremely taxing and stressful, but he makes the effort to appear calm and reassuring in all of our encounters. It's the part of being a physician that can't be taught in a classroom, and something that puts him among best.
He is kind, caring, and funny - I found it was easy to talk to him about sensitive subjects, and he also happens to really know what he is doing. The best doctors know that the more they listen to their patients, the more answers they'll get. Neal Joseph is one of those doctors. I solved medical problems with him in a matter of weeks, and I was expecting it to be a much longer process. Highly recommended!
