Dr khakpour was my surgeon when I was battling breast cancer. She was awesome and I can’t say enough good things about her 🙏🏾
Dr. Khakpour is an amazing breast oncologist surgeon. My youngest sister just had a double mastectomy and also has one lymph node removed and the surgery was successful and excellent. Dr. Khakpour is highly respected in the medical community and very well educated and very well trained in her field. Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Khakpour was not a positive one. I did not feel that the options for my care and surgery were thoroughly explained. I underwent a double mastectomy and was left with lifelong nerve damage—something I now know could have been avoided with more careful surgical technique and better communication. Before surgery, I specifically asked about nerve preservation and was told that it was not available for patients like me. Very unprofessional. Refused to see my mother after she drove two hours. We were told the doctor did not want to work behind someone else as my mother had already had surgery even though her doctor wanted her to be seen. It would have been nice had the office called to explain the situation and refer my mother to someone for treatment but I guess that would be asking too much.
