Had the lunch buffet we've had before. The "pickles" are my favorite condiment. The food is too sloppy and loose for a plate, they really need bowls and not those little cup like dishes. We had not checked the serving times when we arrived close to 2:00 pm. While we were finishing our meal the waiter stood by our table and said, "Time to go." I was amazed at the lack of couth. Found out later on line they close at 2:15 p.m. You would think we would have gotten a disclaimer on arriving.
Incredible Service – Our service was great and the waiter was adorable. Ambiance was romantic and definitely recommended. For the music,,,I would recommend jazz or house and the people were cool. Portions were good.
Best Indian – Most flavorful Indian in L.A. Every bite is delicious, I am always so full after, cause I cant stop eating, its soooooooooooo good!
would not recommend – we went there on a restaurant dot com gift certificate. the mgr/owner/waiter tried to deny it saying it wasn't good for our meal. we read the fine print and knew he was wrong. he would not come back to our table when requested. the other waiter said to just go. we left the appropriate amount and left. this guy works like the insurance industry, just deny all claims from the start.
Food has changed, but still a good deal for their lunch buffet – As the previous reviewer stated, the food has definitely changed and not for the better. Whether or not the chef has left, the tastes of the curries and tandoori chicken have been off. I usually go there for their lunch buffets and this time around I noticed that the food tasted more on the bland side. The tandoori chicken wasn't cooked thoroughly, still bloody and red close to the bone. Either one by themselves would've made me go somewhere else, but the blood... read more
THE CHEF HAS LEFT!!!! – i went to nawab of india last weekend and the food did not taste the way it used to. i found out that the chef no longer works there.i dont know if i will be coming back to nawab. he made the best indian food i have ever tasted! i used to go there every weekend! but fortunately i learned the chef of nawab is opening his own restaurant called "Copper Chimney." it is in Woodland hills. I can't wait till it opens!
Probably the best indian food in LA – Keep in mind though that they can get busy, and when they are busy their service is not very good. But, if you come early or on a weeknight, you will not have to worry about service being an issue. The food is high quality - a lot higher quality than your average indian restaurant. If you wanted to judge the place on it's Mango Lassi, then Nawab would get the Gold Medal. Their Mango Lassi (yogurt mango drink) is the best I have ever had. Their nan is terrific, rice is delicious, and they... read more
Dinner was good, but skip the buffett – We had a couple nice dinners and were very impressed with the flavors. Nice decor, traditional indian restaurant - white table cloths, traditional music, etc. A little pricey compared to other establishments close by with equivalent or better food (Jaipur on Pico/Westwood by Westside Pavilion). Dinner menu is Vegetarian Friendly. Food is extra oily - even for indian. Awesome sinks in the bathrooms, just FYI. We returned for their lunch buffett and were very very disappointed. Modest se... read more
A serene scene, Indian classics and the occasional celebrity sighting are what's for dinner (or lunch) at this Santa Monica favorite. – In Short Taking up residence right across the street from a fancy Mercedes Benz dealership on Wilshire Boulevard, this two-room space hides nothing with its floor-to-ceiling windows that filter in the Santa Monica sunshine by day and bring in the bright lights of the boulevard by night. The white tablecloths and elevated price points convey a slightly more upscale experience than most Indian... read more
