Below average Indian restaurant – I am surprised at the good reviews for this restaurant, and maybe my taste buds work differently. Having traveled all across the US and eaten at 50 to 100 Indian restaurants across the US, not to mention good at Indian cooking myself, in my opinion, this is a below average Indian restaurant. The positives are that the service is good and the location is good if you want to eat something in the downtown area. However, the negatives far outweigh the positives. The atmosphere is dull and dreary... read more

Overpriced baby!! – One mutter paneer ($12.95), yoghurt, two rotis, Kachumber salad - price tag was $28 and change without tips. You don't think it is pricey? I do. Quality of mutter paneer was very good. But rotis were like chewing rubber. They do not know how to make kachumber salad or they do not want to change. Ambience - seating is very good and spacious, but very dark inside. I would need a candle or a flash light to read the menu. You think it is romantic? well, I don't. it gives me a creepy feeling! Buffet lunch may ... read more

Like leaving Roanoke for India! – I give Nawab a 5 star rating for the following. Of may I took my 16 yr old friend there to eat, and she has a dislike of tomatoes. As I explained this to the waiter, he took special care of her meal and we have returned many times, and have never left disappointed. Anyone who leaves Nawab, dissapointed has apparently had a bad day, or is hyper critical. I have returned with several differnt friends and they too have throughtly enjoyed themselves. It is akin to being on a cruise ship, with al... read more

The WORST Indian Restaurant -Rude Service, Disgusting Food – Just two days back I thought about stopping at the Indian restaurant Nawab in Roanoke, VA. Nawab is located in the downtown area of Roanoke just beside the famous food-court. Well I had the most disgusting experience at Nawab Indian Restaurant in Roanoke. Reasons: 1. Horrible food 2. Very rude and indecent service at the table. 3. Loud dining place. First of all, Nawab is probably a restaurant that serves North-Indian foods. While browsing their menu, I saw they ha... read more

A very good indian restaurant. – Nawab is located in downtown Roanoke next to the Farmer's Market. The restaurant is very clean and neat, and the appearance is very good. I went there for the lunch buffet. When I go to indian restaurants, it is usally for the buffet. The food was very good. The spices were subtle and not overbearing. The meats were filleted and I didn't notice any bones (which can be a problem at some restaurants.) Nawab is a good starting point for those willing to try Indian food.

Tasty Indian Cuisine – By definition Nawab means and honorary title of rank, which is fitting for the grand taste of Indian cuisine and service you will experience by visiting this restaurant. I've always made it a point to go during buffets for the wide selections they offer. You'll find delicious chicken curry, tandori chicken, lamb, and a wonderful rose rice pudding that'll call for more than just one trip to the dessert tray. Service is wonderful, there seems to always be one waiter ready to fill your drink and make sure... read more
