Unacceptable, especially if you are about to PCS. We had the joy of being up until midnight before a cross-country drive thanks to a malfunctioning smoke detector and broken A/C. Even more enjoyable was dealing with the assortment of bug, to include the horde of fleas we have spent hours trying to get off of us and all of our belongings.
[Larry Burnett - booking agent] took my call, looking for availability across the Tidewater area. TOP NOTCH customer service!! He was kind, patient, educational…and just a pleasant gentleman. Thank you all for hiring high quality staff—Larry is a great example of Customer Care. As a Navy retiree, I appreciate this even more. Thank you!
The overall hotel experience is positive but the wifi experience is abysmal. I only come to this location for work, and the base itself has close to zero cell phone service. The hotel exacerbates an already bad situation by having wifi that only works at 1 mbps with access points that frequently drop connection. Please upgrade the wifi service here, it is 2025 and we are working with internet speeds from the 90s.
As others have said, not really cell signal at the Inn, however you can log into wifi and it's better! We loved the quiet environment all around the base and even enjoyed driving around in the evening and morning to see all the critters out (deer, squirrels, skunks, ground hogs, rabbits, etc). The room set up was like a mini apartment with a kitchenette as soon as you walk in the door and separate rooms for the living room, bedroom, and bathroom.
