There have been suicides in the sub force since the beginning of the sub force. I am proud to see that despite the struggles, there are men and women taking the issue as seriously tonight as they did decades ago. Thank you for taking the time to support each other while you're out supporting the rest of us. And remember: suicide is not the answer. Sometimes you don't get to rest in peace; they make you stand watch for eternity.
Be ready to deal with MP/PMO. They are horrible, mainly the patrol. Gates always cool but the Chad's patrolling the base can really be uneducated in base orders and they enforce rules that either don't exist or are very unfair. Pretty sad when a junior enlisted service member has to educate you on your own job that you've got 2-3 times the experience in. Had a great tour hear during my twilight tour retiring from here right after the New Year in 2011. I had my own vehicle, otherwise it would have been boring and miserable since it is a very small base with not many amenities. I miss San Diego in general, especially the authentic Mexican food with various taco shops, and Asian markets, particularly Seafood City in National City, CA.
