I've always viewed furniture as art. Using live edge elements I create pieces that are part of nature's bounty. Nature's Knots Custom Furniture was born out of the need to create furniture out of wood. I became drawn to the pieces of wood that were "cast offs" and gave them a new life. So far, we have a custom walnut bed and underneath drawers, a custom fly tying desk, and a live edge coffee table. All amazing pieces. If you can imagine a piece of custom furniture, Nature’s Knot can build it. Phenomenal craftsmanship.
We have worked with Marty at Nature's Knot Custom Furniture twice now. The first time Marty created a custom dining table for, the finished product was stunning. We were so happy with Mary's work we ordered a Sofa Table and two ends table, with the same end result, just really beautiful pieces. I would highly recommend using Marty, he's a local gem.
My husband and I recently commissioned Marty to make us a live edge dining table and two coffee tables from some precious walnut wood that came from my husband's family farm. The walnut tree had been planted by his great grandfather in the 1800's and fell during a hurricane in VA. We collaborated with Marty and discussed lots of designs. When chatting with Marty about getting a few items made for my wife, he was very open minded on the ideas I had and went over different concepts on what they would or could look like and he really knocked it out of the park. He built my wife two small jewelry boxes, a live edge mirror for our master bathroom, a cross and a cutting board. With things like this, you get what you pay for and the quality is A1.
