They are closing local farmers in Point Reyes. When our communities need diversified food sources now more than ever, their attempt to close the ranches in Point Reyes is giving larger companies an advantage in the marketplace.
I will NEVER AGAIN SUPPORT THE NATURE CONSERVANCY ! (Although I had for decades.) What they did to those ranchers in Pt. Reyes is HIDEOUS. YOU ARE NOTHING BUT BULLIES. I am a hard core environmentalist and have dedicated my life to protecting the planet. Those ranchers where there, some since the 1800s. The NC is bullying ranchers near Point Reyes. Do not give to or volunteer for them.
I find the reviews here to be so sad. If you don't care about the environment, don't talk to them. Once I agreed to talk with them, they told me what they did and I was happy to be involved. I can afford it. But they went out of their way before fully signing me up to ensure I was not being coerced. They called their headquarters and asked me to confirm that I understood what I was donating to and how the donations would work. This is a real non-profit doing good work. Why are you approaching people outside reliable supermarkets, with cheap manipulation tactics, pressuring them into signing up for donations, and for at least a year?! What a bad experience this has been, shame on you, Nature Conservancy of CALIFORNIA.
