The Nature Conservancy DID NOT BULLY Pt Reyes Ranchers. They negotiated between the ranchers and the state and stepped in to help. They were in the middle. They did not bully anyone. I would advise caution when engaging with this organization. While their stated mission of environmental protection appears commendable, my experience raised several concerns regarding their practices. I was approached in a high-pressure, in-person solicitation setting, where I was encouraged to provide card details under the impression that a one-month contribution was possible. They are closing local farmers in Point Reyes. When our communities need diversified food sources now more than ever, their attempt to close the ranches in Point Reyes is giving larger companies an advantage in the marketplace.
I will NEVER AGAIN SUPPORT THE NATURE CONSERVANCY ! (Although I had for decades.) What they did to those ranchers in Pt. Reyes is HIDEOUS. YOU ARE NOTHING BUT BULLIES. I am a hard core environmentalist and have dedicated my life to protecting the planet. Those ranchers where there, some since the 1800s.
