Only visited for an MOT, had a couple minor failures but all sorted with no issues, competitive cost to rectify them, communication good and very friendly professional staff.
Dawn is a member of the team on the front desk who went above and beyond to help me out on my first MOT that failed miserably. My MOT was booked in for 11 and was completed by 12, I was advised on what was needed to pass my car and how to affordably pay for it, as Halfords offer various payment options. Fortunately I was able to get my Car passed very quickly thanks to Dawn and the rest of the team who, for a very busy garage, managed to fit me in at any small slot they had. I won’t be returning to Halfords Autocentre. Arrived two minutes early for my MOT and was met by an unwelcoming tester who told me he wouldn’t have done it if I’d been a minute later. The car failed (my own fault), but when I came back for a retest it took nearly 90 minutes, with no communication. The atmosphere suggested retests are treated as an inconvenience, with staff avoiding the grumpy tester and passing the job to less experienced colleagues. An unpleasant and needlessly drawn-out experience.
