My son needed a transport from St Mary's hospital in Athens GA to Emory Hospital in Atlanta because he had a pneumothorax and needed to be at a place with better care/expertise. St Mary's arranged the transport to my knowledge. The ambulance from National EMS drove my son 68 miles (on their bill) in normal traffic at normal speed (according to my son). My Dad was picked up by National in Watkinsville GA. He had a fall and National was called. When crew arrived they did a limited exam and “supposed they could take “ him to the hospital. An 85 year old man fell from a standing position. He hit his head on the wood floor. His right leg was 3” shorter than left and rotated outwardly. No neck protection was provided As a longtime RN in WISCONSIN, I was able to diagnose over FaceTime. Basic medical knowledge!

This is two parts but both parts let you know just WHO this Pathetic Ambulance service is and for YOU to seriously consider all OTHER options if a situation arises. OCONEE County Georgia NEEDS their OWN ambulance service just like GREENE COUNTY has, an ambulance service that is affordable and one that is there to serve the people of the county and community with outstanding service instead of one such as National ambulance service which is there to ONLY make as much money as possible and one that is probably padding the pock... read more

We called an ambulance for my mother at 3am on 9/1 because she said she couldn't breathe. The paramedics arrived, took an oxygen reading, and listened to her lungs. Despite her not being able to draw in a breath, the more dominant paramedic said her lungs were "awesome" and probably just had a cold. When she said she wanted to go to the hospital, he tried very hard to talk her out of it, but we insisted. Jonathan and Brianna delivered my Mother home from the emergency room today. The coordination displayed in safely getting her back into our home was impressive given the amount of furniture that they navigated around. What impressed me most was the compassion and care displayed in how they gently returned her home. They handled the most important person in my world in the same manner that I would have and made sure that she was comfortable.
