I have used them in past and yes, they did help me settle debts for way less than I owed (Thank You!), but with all the fees that they charge you, at the end of the program, its like you are paying the full amount. I was so desperate and I just wanted to be debt free that I enrolled without really thinking about it. When I tried to cancelled Mark Bennett was rude and said "how can you think of doing it on your own when you have no idea what you are doing". Very rude Mark, especially your tone. Best debt consolidation around. Their credit counseling service is completely free. They give you a program to follow and help you get out of debt quicker than expected.

Since I now know that my debt is in the hands of debt consolidation experts, I can finally have a good night’s sleep. This non-profit consumer credit counseling service company has been around for over 20 years. The whole process is done confidentially, and they are very understanding about my situation. I appreciate that very much.

Do not ever use a debt consolidation company. I made this mistake. First off, I am very meticulous with making sure I know everything when signing an agreement. I was only made aware of monthly fees adding up to about $30. Turns out they add on a 20% fee for every settlement. So for example, if you settle an account for $1500, they will charge you an additional $300. So in my case, I had $40,000 in debt, in which they promised settlements at around 40%. I don't think they were giving me straight answers. I felt they were not honest about what they could and could not do. I don't even think they are licensed attorneys. I felt I was being pushed to sign a contract. I decided I could not trust them, and ended up not working with them.
