I was very impressed with our recent experience renting from National out of San Francisco. On our way back from northern California, our car suffered a broken windshield due to a piece of gravel from a truck traveling in front of us on U.S. 101. The National agent at Santa Rosa airport (the closest one at the moment) happily switched out our vehicle with no hassle whatsoever. If I could give national less than one star I would. On October 22nd I rented a luxury car as the rate was competitive with Silvercar and national was in the San Francisco airport. When booking online, nothing appeared regarding a mileage charge. I mean, who charges for mileage anymore anyway? As I am a emerald club member, I went to the car accompanied by a national representative. I am a National Car Rental Emerald Executive member and it is by far the best way to rent a car! No lines to wait in, you simply arrive at the National lot pick out a car from the designated area and drive. The facility at Phoenix airport is about a 10 minute drive via shuttle but it's a very easy process. Dropping the car off was even easier! They emailed me a receipt and didn't have to wait. Great service and very clean cars. Much better selection than Enterprise Rent a Car. The option to choose your own car was a nice touch giving my many options to choose from.

love the emerald club and isle, normally I always have multiple cars to choose from, but National at DFW on Tuesday evening 10/4 were out of cars in the lot and there was a line of customers waiting for cars to be brought down from the return level, had no choice on a car (mini-van) when I was next in line and the next one came down

As always, the car pick-up process was very easy, and the quality of the cars excellent. After three great weeks of driving around Southern California I dropped the car off at LAX, and they even provided a shuttle ride back to my hotel. Great service! Would definitely recommend National for those who want excellent service, great cars, and no hassles.

There seemed to be all types of vehicles on The Aisle at SFO, including trucks and SUV's, so I wasn't sure what my options were for the vehicle class that I selected. After returning to the office area to ask for clarification, the agent apologized and upgraded my rental to Full size. This was unexpected but certainly appreciated. The KIA Cadenza was roomy, comfortable, very responsive, had all the latest tech, and a huge trunk. I thoroughly enjoyed this car for the entire week, driving in a variety of conditions. Worst car rental experience ever ! Got to the airport and proceeded to the Emerald Aisle area expecting to just jump in a waiting car. NOPE ! Get greeted by a line of about 20+ people waiting for cars. Some guy from National is at the front of the line explaining that employees will be bringing up cars from the lot. How is this possible. You should know the amount of reservations you have for the day and make sure the cars are available in the Emerald Aisle area throughout the day. This Aug 2016 mini-van rental from SFO was very disappointing. The Kia Sonoma was 1) dirty including pistachio nut shells everywhere, 2) a rear/third seat that never went down and 3) rear/third seat belts never worked (a real safety issue). The vehicle was never fully cleaned (second seats stained & shells) and prepared from prior uses and even had original plastic coverings still in place. Complete lack of attention to detail â?? suggest you look elsewhere at SFO.
