Dr. Nathaniel Valin took care of my husband, who is 87 years old. At the end he said that he has blockage that is very difficult to fix and suggested that we go to Mayo Clinic or Cleveland. I had to do a lot of research, finally I found great doctor who was able to open 2 of his blockages in right coronary artery, one of them was 99 blocked. First, thank you Dr. Valin. Secondly, here is my saga: I am a 70-year-old competitive singles tennis player. I am physically active and fit. Over the course of the last several months, cardiac testing led me to Advent Health, Daytona Beach for catherization and then, either stent placement or open-heart surgery. In 2018 I had the MISS fortune of having Dr. Valin as the cardiologist on call , he admitted me for AFIB, highly suggesting I have pace maker implanted. I was never offered or asked about blood thinners. BUT he did suggest that the propranolol I was given for migraines was the “culprit When I was discharged suddenly I’m on 3xs the dosage of propranolol! Then “ suddenly I’m HIS patient.
