You are trusting a Dr and their team to save your life. You are knocked out for the surgery and hope to wake in day or two. Who can do this surgery for you? Dr Langer! He's very smart, well published, very caring and skilled. My valve replacement scar may not even be visible in a few months. I am complicated, with kidney disease, lung problems, almost 60 years of diabetes and more, yet they, and he in particular, took care of me with warmth, kindness and most importantly, great skill. Rah, Rah!!! 10 stars, not just 5.
I almost died, & was scared even to meet Dr. Langer. The drs at Mass Gen have a tendency to talk a bit over your head, not on purpose or anything, but Dr. Langer makes a point to look you in the eye & explain plainly what's happening, & what will happen. He was kind & patient, even when i was most concerned with my hair falling out, even when my surgery was pushed back. My husband Tommy and I waited three months for our appointment with Dr. Langer. Instead another doctor called us. In our appointment we were given no options, no decisions to be able decide upon due to my spouse has liver disease! He will not even try to fix his leaky heart two valves due to his having liver disease. My spouse could not have a liver ablation (sm. mass) or liver transplant unless he has his leaky heart valves fixed.
