I've called the UIC Outpatient Psychiatry Department several times a day, every day for two weeks now to make an appointment with Dr. Joshua Nathan. Only one time did someone from the answering service pick up- who then gave me a basic screening, confirmed the doctor is accepting new patients and that someone would call me back within 48 hours. Someone did call back the next day - but only left a message with no follow up information or instruction. Since then, each day for 11 days and counting, no one has answered the phone... read more

Had around 6 appointments with him from 2021-2022. After 2 medications he prescribed didn't work for me, he finally asked me if there's a chance that I *like* feeling sad. Yep, I love feeling sad! That's why I'm paying expensive medical bills for a psychiatrist and therapist. Seeing a new psychiatrist and have had substantial improvements in mental health. Please look elsewhere.

Avoid this doctor. He asks the same questions each visit, forgetting almost everything you've repeatedly said before. He even said "it doesn't sound like you want to get better." Yes, I'm just spending all this time and money trying to figure out how to alleviate the pain I'm in for fun. He's rude and condescending on each visit. I've found a new doc and I'm really pleased to not have to see this person again.
