I saw Dr. Fishman for a second opinion about my Restless Legs Syndrome. Two medications that I've been on have worn off in short order, leaving me in nightly discomfort. Being new to the area, i wanted to get established with a neurologist. In two and a half decades, I have consulted with three neurologists in my home state who examined me thoroughly, listened respectfully to my concerns, and offered helpful and informative advice. Dr Fishman was the polar opposite. He was rude and belittling, spent less than five minutes with me, and left the room as i was speaking to him. Truly the worst dr i have ever encountered. This physician is not worth your time.

When I I developed worsening neurological symptoms she quickly jumped to the “psychosomatic” and it’s my “perception” and “emotions” suggestion which is not correct. I don’t know how anyone can even make a suggestion like that before even any basic investigation. It felt like gaslighting. My mistake was not noticing that she is also board certified in psychiatry. So now I’m wondering if that created a bias. Thankfully I was taken more seriously elsewhere and was diagnosed with another condition (not mental).

Dr. Fishman seemed to be kind and helpful until I declined an EMG. I had an order for the nerve conduction study only and scheduled for the nerve conduction only. He recommended part 2 (emg) and through tears, I explained I’d had that test many times before, I was afraid, I preferred to schedule at a later date perhaps with meds for anxiety. He Became angry, arrogant, told me insurance will probably not even cover it and he would refuse to do the test at a later date. Dr. Kayloe, is amazing. She has been treating my back/neck issues and although we're still continuing on our journey, Dr. Kaylor took the time to find the underlying problem and we are working to address it. She took excellent care of 3 generations of women in my family!
