Home to screaming rock fans and the New York Islanders. – The Skinny Built on a former Army air field and opened in 1972, the Nassau County Veterans Memorial Coliseum is the smallest of three arenas in the New York area. It's outdated by today's hockey-arena standards and lacks many amenities of newer halls. City Beneath the Surface Although the arena is only 75 feet high, there's more to the Coliseum than meets the eye. The ice surface is 20 feet underground and the 60,000-square-foot Exhibition Hall is beneath that.
Iffy... – It's so easy to get to Nassau Coliseum from Manhattan, something that their website and operators don't mention. Just take LIRR and a cab, and you'll be in and out in a flash. BUT--do NOT buy tickets in this venue unless you can get floor seats, or really really like the performer. Sound quality and visuals are pretty terrible from all the tiers. And the monitors are flush with the stage, so side seats are worse.
Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum has no reviews yet.
Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum is open now. It will close at 6:00 p.m.
