In 2025, while active duty, I ruptured my patellar tendon on the beach at Dam Neck Naval Base. I was there with my sister and our two large dogs. The pain was severe, and I knew I couldn’t get up, so my sister called an ambulance. From the start, my pain and concerns were dismissed. The paramedics pressured me to put weight on my leg. While I'm a HUGE advocate of ATFP, it makes NO SENSE to close an ENTIRE GATE and your sentries PLUS the civilian COP have no clue where the secondary access point is. I've been on the road for 90 minutes because all the guidance I got was to 'google' Sandbridge. I gotta hand it to this SCSTC location that they surely do excel in inconveniencing ALL personnel. It's surely a grave disservice to people and if the goal is to deter people from ever coming here, this establishment is accomplishing this goal FLAWLESSY!!!
