Dismissed physical symptoms as anxiety I saw Dr. Bagari for severe, persistent upper abdominal and throat pain after scopes and a course of antibiotics. Despite daily pain and inability to eat normal portions, I was told it was “gut anxiety” and prescribed an anti-depressant. I later went to hospital and was diagnosed with gastritis requiring higher-dose treatment. I felt dismissed and unheard. When I questioned his diagnosis he shut me down.
