We were lucky to have a friend that would go here and bring bottles back, 20 years ago. Now my wife and I make the drive for probably the best olive oil that we've had. I crave the incredible smell it reminds me of the old Italian markets in Oakland that my grandma would take me to many years ago.
Best olive oil ever!
This small store is off the beaten path in St. Helena and is an old school Italian food store offering ravioli, pasta ( dry and fresh), cheeses, pepperoni, salami, biscotti and olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I love the half gallon all purpose olive oil at $35.00 per half gallon. They also have extra-virgin olive oil and a variety of flavored balsamic vinegars. I go back to this store over and over even though its an hour drive from my home. The people who own it are from Lucca,Italy. This place is the real deal!
I started going here in the late 60s, as a kid i would save my money up to buy a salami. As I grew up i continued to make the trip from vallejo for salami and cheese. Growing up i took my family to napa bakery for fresh sourdough, stop and get salami and cheese, and go to calistoga, and we would watch the gliders launch and land. Wonderful times.
