I had been to about 10 stores looking for a particular part Because I was in a bind.. I hurried to Napa on Brightleaf Blvd in Smithfield NC because I know they close at six. I GOT THERE AT 5:58. THERE WAS A GUY AT THE COUNTER BUT THE DOOR WAS LOCKED. I KNEW THEY MIGHT NOT HAVE THE PART BUT AS NAPA HAD ALWAYS BEEN HELPFUL IN OTHER LOCATIONS IVE BEEN TO, I FIGURED AT THE VERY LEAST THEY COULD TELL ME WHERE I MIGHT FIND THE PART. I walked in knowing exactly what I needed — wiper blades. The store manager — not a regular employee, not a trainee, THE manager — looked up my car on his computer with the confidence of a man who has never been wrong about anything in his life, and sold me the wrong sizes. Both of them. Impressively wrong. I want to be clear that this man had access to a computer. A computer that presumably contained the correct information.
