I am so grateful we used Nantucket On Island Chefs! Michael Caffrey and his team were so easy to work with, and everything was perfect. The food was beautiful and delicious. I would (and do) recommend them to anyone.
Michael and his team are friendly, considerate and responsive. I've hosted several private events in different cities and Michael tops the list in both the quality of the food and his service. I helped host a private event in Nantucket with OIC recently for around 80 people. The passed apps were tasty and prepared quickly, as was the main course. The lobster bake is a must-order. Couldn't recommend Michael and his team enough. Easy to communicate with leading up to our event and they were amazing at the dinner itself!
BEWARE, this was a truly appalling experience. First off, we were given a menu, which the host distributed in advance to all guests, and then the menu was not adhered to. Not only was the menu not adhered to, but courses were missing. Also, if you have dogs, they’ll claim your animals are attacking them. (The host had a friendly tiny 25 lb duck tolling retriever). I was a recent guest at an event where this company provided an in-home dining experience. Having worked in the food and wine industry in Manhattan for several years, I have been exposed to many private chefs and catering entities. In this context, I can say that Nantucket’s On Island Chefs was the single worst meal of this type that I have ever experienced.
