The business was started in 1949 by returning veteran from World War 2, Bernie Silverman. His shop at the time was in Sherman Oaks. He hired Michael Diaz in 1980 as an installer and in 1989 sold the business to Michael. As the business grew Michael moved the business to it's current location in Chatsworth.

Great experience with Nantucket Shutters! Mike was friendly, easy to talk to, knowledgeable and reliable! Quality of shutters is amazing! Installation was fast because they had everything prepped and ready to go. We are so happy we moved forward with Mike and Nantucket Shutters!
Nantucket Shutters has earned this well deserved five star review because of many reasons but Micheal Diaz the owner is the primary factor in all of those reasons. Nantucket was the last of five, yes FIVE quotes in our quest to find the right company to install shutters in our home. # 1 Costco’s provider, Galaxy Draperies (2’nd highest quote). They claimed shutters couldn’t be installed on our entry door and we’d have to go with blinds there. No other companies saw an issue with putting shutters on the entry door by the way.... read more
