I brought my son (2.5 years old) here a few days ago on a whim and we had a lot of fun! I was originally unsure about the price, but it's a huge bucket and there were more than enough gems inside. The owner is super nice and even stayed open late for us to finish up. He told us what each gem was and even separated them into different bags in case I later decide to have some made into jewelry. My little one LOVES his gems and they are proudly displayed in my living room.
A great place to visit with the kids. Buckets are seeded with gemstones from around the world? The local sandy metamorphic schist is fun to sort through to find the gemstones. Beware a 5 gallon bucket of matrix (rocks, gems and sand) is $48.00 plus tax. I had fun sifting thru a scoop of local meta-sedimentary rounded rocks from the adjacent Wesser creek.
Brian was very friendly, and professional! I found just the ruby I wanted! One of the highlights of my day!
