So much to do here! Mt. bike rentals, rafting, kayaking, relaxing by the river and watching people float by. Plenty of places to eat, get an ice cream or beer! They have a general store and convenience store. The A/T comes right down into the NOC so always some hikers to talk about the trail with.
All the way from Fort Lauderdale FL and we had a great time. The man who runs it took his time at the end to let us know what we have and what's good and what's not. We will be back next year! Great little gem!
Very friendly staff and a good value for the money. Will go again when we're in the area.we got lots of gems from the visit as well as crystals. Very fun.
Perfect activity for a rainy day! We’re staying at Fontana Village for an event, and found this ‘gem’ a quick 35 min drive away. Bill was great! He not only showed us ropes of the panning process, but helped identify all the great gems and minerals we found. The bucket was a huge 5 gallon container that kept us busy for a while. They will also polish and ship the finished stones to you if you choose.
Had a blast!!! You cannot visit the mountains without gem mining. Reasonably priced fun & you get a good collection of gems!
