Truly the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor. When I expressed that I’d been nervous about receiving an answer for a complex eye issue, she told me I was working myself up and had been reading too much about it on the internet. The doctor who referred me told me outright that my issue was often a symptom of MS. I then waited several months for my appointment with Dr. Vilar. Excellent doctor. Saved my vision in my right eye.
This doctor is a horrible, horrible definition of Neuro ophthalmologist. The only reason why she’s there is because Dr. Newman retired and Neuro ophthalmology as far in few in the field very knowledgeable, very uncaring in his clueless.

My Dad saw Dr. Vilar and she immediately diagnosed his condition for double vision. She sent him for an MRI and it turned out to be what she predicted. Dad had suffered for over a year and was misdiagnosed by another practice. We are so thankful for her. The staff is kind and helpful, the communication is outstanding! Dr. Vilar is knowledgeable and cares about her patients. I highly recommend!
