On the auspicious day of Dhanteras (10/18/2025), I went to purchase a 1 oz silver coin. The salesperson quoted a price of $100, even though the market price of silver that day was around $50 — meaning we were already paying nearly double. Scammers charged $100+tax (for total of $108.25) for 20gm silver coin when 1oz pure silver price (18 Oct 2025) is around $55 ish for 1oz. Also, there is not tax on bullion coins in Texas but they still charged a tax. Filing a complaint with Commodity Futures Trading Commissions (CFTC) and Attorney General of Texas.
