A friend recommended Motoki to fix a bad haircut I got elsewhere, so I made the trek to Pasadena and I’m so happy! Motoki expertly maintained my length while adding beautiful internal layers, evening out the cut, and removing weight to re-balance my hair. The whole experience was smooth and easy. Had a wonderful visit to this salon today! Noriko was so sweet and did a great job with my haircut. I'm really happy with my new shoulder-length cut - it turned out exactly how I wanted. Professional service and I'd recommend giving them a try.
1 out of 2 stars is because the first and second visits were sooo good so that I returned for the 3rd time. This time, when I booked the appointment, with no choice, Motoki is the only one that's available; but I had not hesitation to go for it based on my previous experiences and reviews on Google. However, HUGE mistake. I asked for simple layers and shorten the length with no blunt cut. The first photo was the inspiration I showed to Motoki. The second one was what I got. My hair was under my bust area when I came to his salon. When I told him the front layers are not short enough , he kind of seemed pissed off and said : that’s not what you told me, my next client is waiting . Of course then he cut it unwillingly with an awkwardness. And the styling he did after hair cut was shown below as well. I came here because of all the good reviews obviously they are not accurate. Would be incorrect to call it an extension of the Japanese hair salon - as the 'chairs' are hired out to stylists. And wow Motoki is problematic and possibly does not recall his training. He doesn't understand color theory and left my hair in an awful condition. I went to another salon to get the color corrected, who were appalled. Does Motoki know how to cut hair?
