I have been there a few times, first for my mom's glasses and then mine, the staff was always professional, respectful and kind, however my experience today was not the same. I had been going to Dr Salta for many years. This year I was forced to pay for my eye exam and dilation that my insurance covers because I did not want to order contact lense before my cataract surgery since my vision would be changing. Finally after going round and round about the cost I agreed to purchase contacts not knowing what my prescription would be after surgery. Took my 7 year old there today for an exam and she was going to need her eyes dilated to get a clear reading which we understood. We tried multiple times to get her to do it but she was scared and refused multiple times so we decided we were gonna try another time when she felt more comfortable. The reason for my 2 star review was the dr that came in was being a little forceful when my daughter was clearly scared about the dilation and kept turning her face away from him. This was my second time going to this location via the VA and their Community Outreach program. I went for a basic eye exam that was 100% covered by the VA. When I checked in I was told that there was imaging that I could do that was $44, but not covered by the VA. I did not express any interest in the imaging and was not asked if I wanted to have it done. They took the images without my consent and when I went to check out I was told that I owed them $44 and I asked them what for since my visit is covered 100% by the VA. I ... read more
