First, I truly appreciate this office taking me in on an emergency basis. The doctor seemed competent and was very pleasant. My issue is with their office staff. The person that checked me out did not seem to understand how my insurance worked or how claims are adjudicated. I was over charged. When I called five weeks later after receiving the EOB I was told the person that checked me out at my appointment didn’t know what they were doing. Great experience at this office! All staff are so kind and professional. I tried going to the other office in Southbury and when they cancelled my appointment on the spot while I was there & stated my insurance did not cover anything, I called this office. Before I scheduled, the tech was able to check my coverage over the phone for my exam and glasses, then confirmed both were covered. I scheduled, the in person appointment was quick and easy. DO NOT go to this place. The staff put in the wrong billing code for my insurance coverage, then charged me personally an additional 77$ after my insurance covered the visit. When I called to rectify the situation, they put it to my insurance - who reached out after they had already sent the issue out to collections. Awful office, staff are rude, very unpleasant experience. Go to America's Best in Waterbury, much better experience.
