My husband and I had hired My Retreat Design to help us with blind selection for the majority of our house. We ended up choosing wooden blinds. They turned out beautifully. The owner charged me a "consultation" fee of $100 to visit my home and measure for a drapery project, mentioned she'd spend an hour though didn't think measuring would take that long and would offer decorating suggestions for the balance of the time. I asked her about adding a cost estiamte on living room and dining room drapes and she happily obliged. No mention of an additional cost or a retainer fee. I would like to set the record straight on what actually happened in my encounters and correspondence with Ms. Nonn. I was paid a $100 deposit which I explained would be applied as a cash deposit to her order for a drapery treatment in her kitchen when the order was placed. When the appointment was made, there was no mention of additional window treatments for which to measure and quote.
