This is the best soul food restaurant in California and it's not even close. I'm from the Bay Area and all of the best places up north have closed down before and since COVID. This place is even better than House of Soul in Vallejo and Lena's Soul Food in Oakland were and I NEVER would say anything in Southern California is better than anything we have in the Bay. I didn't want to write this but the owner had the audacity to message something vile to me after I have been more than patient and understanding regarding my order fiasco from last night. Its at a house in a neighborhood. Cant be licensed and have health inspection....very odd not my cup of tea... And being from a lineage of 90 years in the restaurant business and being Italian Ukrainian; the owner calls me a racist since Im caucasian?...innappropriate especially when you see other negative reviews...a restaurant being ran out of a house is a negative look and will scare people away...but instead since she assumes Im a racist? This is horrible! We ordered a bunch of food. She made us waited for 2 hours for her "soul food." Here is a picture of what we got versus what we ordered... A bunch of food is missing and she refuse to answer her phone.
Catfish was hot and juicy, the ribs were so tender they were falling off the bone!! Chef is super friendly and sweet and has amazing customer service! I could not recommend Mommas Louisiana Soulfood more !!🤤
