I ordered 2 platters chicken cutlet supreme and 20 wraps for a very important party get together at my house….around 30 people I was very disappointed and shock …absolutely not the same food …. I’ve been going to My hero for last 35 years and it’s NOT THE SAME FOOD AT ALL !!… I know Anthony had sold the place , but ever since then I WILL NEVER GO BACK THATS FOR SURE .
This spot is a Long Island go-to when I’m craving a solid hero. It’s consistently busy, and they clearly know their craft—the service is impressively quick, and you can tell they put effort into every sandwich. It’s strictly a cash-only operation, and parking is a breeze with plenty of free spaces. Honestly, my only gripe is that it feels like something is missing—I just can't quite put my finger on what separates it from top-tier spots like Defontes or Original John's Deli.
