I have an outdoor pond and lighting system that has worked well for many years. Suddenly. the GFI breaker started to trip. The pump would work for about three minutes and then the breaker would trip. I called My Electrician and he said he'd be over in an hour. He finally showed up two and a half hours later! He said that the problem was the old GFI breaker in the panel and that I didn't even need that because there was another GFI at the plug itself. Jacob ("My Electrician") has been our electrician for more than two decades. We turn to him for everything. This month, he did the wiring for our kitchen renovation and updated our hardwired smoke detectors. He also installed motion-detecting LED lights in a storage room, that are safer than what we had in there. All for a really good price. The alarm for the refrigerator was making a consistent beeping noise. He charged $200 to reset the fridge (and reconnect an LED light driver that was unplugged earlier while I was looking for the source of the noise).
