On August 1, I brought my car (1999 Hyundai Elantra, 92,306 miles) in to Tuffy Auto Service Center of Yorkville IL. I knew what service had to be performed because I had a previous evaluation by another repair shop. I needed to replace the exhaust flex-pipe. The owner/operator Brandon Kribbs raised the car up and allowed myself and my son to look under the vehicle (a lot of places don't allow this important opportunity). I gotta tell you I am quite enthralled at the service and the fact that I was taken out in the shop and actually shown what was wrong with my car!!!! I thought all they did was oil changes but in fact i was totally wrong. Had I gone on my trip to Alabama without taking it to them for a simple oil change I would have never known that my car was not fit for a long trip , now that its fixed I'm on my way. Thank you Tuffy.
I really wish I could give this place a negative star rating. When you think of cheap mechanics who only want to take advantage of you, this place is them. My boyfriend took our car here for an oil change. They told him that he needed an appointment when there was no one else there. The service man told him to wait and they will see what they can do. Twenty minutes later, they came back and said they could do it. It took them over an hour to conduct the oil change (if you can call it that). They were all way too busy talking... read more
