A Great Place to Shop for Sports Cards - Hands Down *New Location*
***Updated at the end***
I've been going to MVP every week or even more for about a month now, I just got back into the hobby. This is the a great place with the nicest people who own and run it. Greg and Debra are great and always take care of me and are super nice to my kids when they are with me too. Always with a smile and appreciation. They even like to chit chat about stuff, not making you feel like you're bothering them as some other stores do.
They have a great selection of old and new packs & boxes, plus they keep an excellent stock of supplies so you can always pick up some sleeves and holders. They also stay on top of their inventory and keep it supplied, not letting it dwindle down to a handful of choices. Prices are great too, they mark up to make a fair profit without over charging, and they keep up with pricing trends so they are in the right range for pricing compared to the market. If you buy a quantity, they will give you a price break as well. The next closest shop to me in Huntington Beach literally charges double the price MVP does on many items and doesn't have nearly the selection of old wax and foil to choose from. Plus the people who run it are not very out going and friendly.
Go see Greg and Debra, you will be glad you did. It is my choice for buying sports cards and supplies 95% of the time. I rarely buy anywhere else and prefer to give them my business, they are local mom and pop store which needs the community to support them and keep places like that open for everyone to enjoy.
BTW, they will be moving to the unit next door which the landlord has cleaned up and improved so they will have a super looking shop in the next few weeks or so. Currently their unit needs some repair and the move will really make the place shine. I can't wait to see how it looks then. I think it may be bigger too.
***UPDATE*** 11/14/11
The store has moved 1 unit over and is great! They are still doing some finishing touches since they just moved, but it's looking awesome with new fixtures and excellent organization. Come see them and buy a few packs, a box or 2 and get a nice hit so they put a picture you up on their website with your new card. Enjoy the hobby by going to MVP, they make it easy to do. I go every couple weeks or so & they greet me like a family member every time. It's nice when a business truly appreciates you as a customer.
