I am an event planner in coastal Georgia. I recently coordinated an event here and had our event shut down due to "excessive noise." We did have a noise permit and the prior to being shut down, the band was so quiet that they couldn't be heard at the back of the tent (LITERALLY). The officer that shut us down was very nice. This is a direct quote from him: "We are out here every weekend shutting down events. It doesn't matter if you have a permit for a noise variance."
