So I was referred to MUSC Endo by my PCP in January with an A1C of around 14 and had just been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. I met with Dr. Loria and her Nurse Dusti and let me say this- THEY WERE AWESOME AND ON POINT!!! Dr. Loria was very patient and explained and answered every question I had. I’m at the VERY LOW level of the “norm” relating to the bloodwork bar and am in full blown hyperthyroidism and she REFUSED to see me after receiving FOUR referrals from three different Drs. They ALL noticed there is a serious problem. I’m malnourished although I eat regularly yet I’m 22 lbs underweight, my skins crepe paper thin w/hematomas all over my arms and shins,, and most of my hair has fallen out.
