I wanted to schedule a physical exam but was told Dr Murphy will not see me because more than 3 years had passed since my last visit. I suppose it’s my fault for remaining healthy, but come on, I’ve been loyal to this Doctor for over 30 years. I wonder if he even cares.
I’ve been a patient of Dr. Murphy’s since I was 30 yo. I’m over 60 now. I’ve come & gone due to work. But everytime I returned to Houston; I was back to Dr. Murphy. He listens to you. He asks questions that seem out of left field. In reality, he is narrowing the issue down. I trust Dr. Murphy very much. His referrals are spot on.
Condescending. Advanced age and difficulty connecting with younger patients. Not sure his training is up to date? Certainly a paternalistic patronizing experience from a female perspective. Perhaps older patients can relate, but certainly would not recommend as a family doctor for kids, young adults, or actual adults. Maybe he is able to engage a geriatric population? Disappointed, not planning to return.

Dr Murphy is hands down the best family doctor in Houston. I have been seeing him since I was a kid and trust him completely. He is patient, kind, and is never in a rush when explaining things.
