I had very severe acne with dark spots all over my face. He prescribed a couple of medications including minocycline which didn’t work for me. Later after like 2 months or so, I went back to him telling him I needed Isotretinoin (used to called accutane which is one of brand names of isotretinoin that has been discontinued). He said “that drug comes with a lot of bad side effects; causes liver problems; I don’t usually prescribe it”.
