James was my tax consultant for two years. While the first year was fine, this year was extremely frustrating. There was an error on my state return, and I spent weeks trying to get in touch with him—emails, calls, and voicemails went unanswered until I pushed more aggressively. He eventually admitted he was too busy, but by then it was too late to fix the mistake or appeal it. The error was on his part, and the lack of communication made it worse. I highly recommend James Muller as a service-oriented tax accountant who is also fairly priced. My taxes were more complicated one year and I could not do it efficiently myself. So I shopped around and discovered that the franchises are even more expensive than I imagined and not in a position to provide this level of personalized service. If you want the best service at a fair price, I recommend Muller Tax & Accounting.
He made a substantial mistake over three years that I discovered. He helped file amended returns has not responded to repeated emails and calls afterward about follow up inquiries from the IRS. One amended return was denied because he did not send needed documentation. He has refused to help refile the amended return as requested by the IRS. He does not take responsibility for his mistakes.
Jim is great at what he does, providing his expertise at an extremely reasonable price point.
Don't recommend!!! Although he was decent to work with during our actual appointment. I've been trying to reach him for almost a year and he doesn't call back or respond back via email. We also recently got a letter for the Dept. of Revenue stating that we owed more taxes than he originally said we had to pay.
