Had to have an emergency surgery performed, went to another public hospital not too far way from Mulgrave and was told it would take 6 hours to be seen, for a LIFE threatening condition! I came into Mulgrave’s ED and was seen almost immediately. My mother had a small procedure at Mulgrave private. Staff and doctors were excellent. One area that needs huge improvement is the lack of a visitor waiting area. Cafe near the entrance is very loud, small and has very uncomfortable and dirty seats. Somewhere quiet and comfy would have been nice.
Staff there are very caring and great! The hospital is state of the art
One week ago I was discharged from the Florey ward after having surgery.One hour later I recieved a phone call saying that nurses had forgotten to put some of my medication in my bag.I arranged to pick them up on the weekend.I went there on the weekend to be told the medication can't be found.I rang the nursing unit manager only to be told that the medication couldn't be found mostly likely disposed of by the pharmacy. NO mention of compensation. A sad end to a relative good visit to have surgery at a reasonable hospital
The overall atmosphere felt quite disorganised, and there seemed to be frequent staff shortages. Communication didn’t always flow smoothly, which gave the impression of a high-stress environment. Just sharing what I personally noticed during my work there.
