The Dr. was OK during visits, but his office was completely unhelpful and hard to work with. There was one major issue: it took WAY TOO LONG for my son's medication to be sent to the specialized pharmacy, and even after it was sent, it was incorrect...which delayed things even more! This issue could have been taken care of in a day and it took over a month...all the while my son was suffering with very predictable symptoms. They didn't seem to care.
I had an extremely disappointing experience with Dr. Muhammad Qureshi at UPMC. My 2-year-old son was suffering from severe constipation and blood in his stool, and despite this, Dr. Qureshi refused to examine him simply because I had not followed his recommendation to give my child daily dose of a medication not FDA-approved for infants.I expressed concerns about possible food allergies or other underlying gastrointestinal issues, yet Dr. Qureshi was dismissive, visibly irritated, and refused to provide any medical care. I do not recommend this place. If you have GI issues go to the er and see their specialist. He didn’t even diagnose my child correctly, had us do extra costly things before doing the obvious.
My son was seen by Dr. Qureshi for many years until he switched to an adult gastroenterologist at the age of 20. Dr. Qureshi always listened very carefully to what we said and was very patient and kind when explaining his condition and treatment options. My son has been symptom-free for more than 5 years due to the management of his disease. I highly recommend Dr. Qureshi to the parents of any children needing a gastroenterologist.
As I was dealing with many stomach issues, Muhammad was very patient and took his time through every appointment. You're not going to get in on time, it's a fact but when you're in, he'll give you all of his time and attention.
