Best location and service. – I love this place. I had the best time this weekend. The owner is down to earth and a great person. His wife who owns the hair salon next door is one of the nicest people I've met in a long time. I got my haircut there for a birthday party (which I went and was bored out of my ...)ended up at Mug lounge, OMG the place was packed after 2 AM, people started to come out of the woodworks. Anyway, if you are not sure where to go and looking for a nice place, nice people and conversation go to MUG Loun... read more
best place to hang out in the entire universe – get off work, took the L train (to 1st ave) and hooray!! mug is just around the corner. grab a beer, look and talk to cool friendly people. get more beer and wrap it up with wine. go home as a happy person. if you're lucky enough (im not gonna name names but its andy), you'll get a happy ending. really really nice. btw, ask for the specials and reggae nights are awesome!!
Wine cafe keeps it casual for East Village locals. – In Short This casual wine spot is bedecked in global accents, with colorfully cushioned banquettes, art posters of Chagall and Kandinsky, and tapestries draped from brick walls. The informal air of mismatched tables and chairs draws neighborhood locals, who drop in for Internet access or independent and international movie nights on the flat-screen TV. Paninis and sweet snacks share menu space with beer and wines from around the world.
Sshh... – MUG is a tiny little space hidden in the Village. However, it works! It's so intimate and relaxing. It's a mix of laid back neighborhood cafe and a no frill lounge. I don't know what it is about this place but it just makes me smile from ear to ear.
Hot Spot!!! – This place just keeps getting better and better! Having transformed many times over, it's headed toward perfection. Head to Mug for a cozy, intimate, warm, enjoyable place to pass your afternoon, or for a hot evening spot. Ellen, the barrista, makes an awesome brown sugar latte, and her pleasant demeanor warms up the whole place.
great laid back neighborhood spot – Mug cafe and wine bar is a terrific find in the east village. Located on 13th street between 1st and A they offer an eclectic variety of goods. From Fondue night on Monday to their excellent selection of wines and the best coffee in the east village their menu is strong from top to bottom. An added bonus is the wait staff, who are as friendly as they are capable. You will often find Ellen there during the day , while the owner Michael is tending bar at night. If you are in the east village... read more
Best coffee in the East Village. – Definitely the best coffee in the East Village. They steam the cream (or milk) in every coffee - every time! It's delicious. Great place to go during the day. Perfect for hanging out, relaxing, and enjoying the comfortable atmosphere. It is a daily ritual.
Ellen's coffee – It's quiet and calm and not too popular..........yet. Ellen the coffee girl makes the best coffee. While other coffee places are crowded and too trendy Mug is like baby bear, "just right".
Mug Lounge has a 3.4 star rating with 36 reviews.
Mug Lounge is open now. It will close at 4:00 a.m.
