My partner went in for a medical assessment for her eyes to get tested, the optometrists their then said to her she had till midnight that day and then she would have no licence. The Medical Assessment wasn't even about her eyes, it was for faints and blackouts. She sold her vehicle and found out by the Service NSW 12 months later my partner still had her licence as she let the expiry run out without renewing it. Booked appointment during my lunch break for an eye scan thinking it should be all done within the hour, as the hour mark approached I mentioned to the staff I needed to get back to work and asked how much longer. I waited a month for an appt. last week. When I turned up exactly on time, I saw 3 other people waiting to be seen by the one optometrist on duty. The receptionist was evasive, and tried to tell me it would probably be a 15 minute wait, which was ridiculous given the amount of others ahead of me. When I told her I thought it was more like an hour to wait, she didn't dispute it and assumed I'd just sit there waiting for an hour or so no problem!?
