AVOID: Fraudulent shipping practices and negligent technical support. I paid for USPS Priority shipping; they shipped via FedEx Ground to save themselves money without telling me. More importantly, their assembly instructions for the Predator 420 clutch kit are WRONG. Following their manual caused my unit to lock up and smoke. When I pointed out the error, they stopped communicating and refused to provide the prepaid return label promised on their own website. Customer service is very unprofessional and rude, products are cheap quality even the more expensive surface drives that have constant issues. Bolts coming out, wires disconnecting and parts just full on breakings. Not a single but of locktight on any part. If your looking for a cheap mud motor look anywhere else.
I don’t normally do this but do your self a favor and buy your mudmotor from a real company like mud buddy, gatortail or prodrive I’ve had nothing but problems.. firstly my motor shows up to my house I take it out of the crate put it on my boat to test it on the water and the boat wouldn’t move.. do to the fact they tightened the prop so tight it cracked.. the guy at mudskipper told me that the motor was to heavy for my boat.. Don't buy this trash. Save your money and put it towards something nicer. These things will fall apart on you and leave you dead in the water.
Material embrittlement on my Featherlite surface drive 16hp caused my motor to fall off my boat going down the road. They don't stand by their shotty craftsmanship as they refused to reimburse me for the damage done and suggested I buy another product from them. Why would I buy another product that's going to potentially be defective and aren't going to stand by the craftsmanship.
