Every single person I know who bought into an HOA community hates their HOA. It's about paying wasted money to a clique of nasty people who have nothing better to do than harrass their victims. I have had my friends and relatives tell me that even small, inoffensive items or plants in their back yard have been a cause of complaints and threats...and they wonder who got on their property to even notice these things.
