Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. Lake Minnewaska is such a beautiful area and a trip to Mt Tom will give not only a great vista but you can also learn how the area was geologically created through some really nice informational signs at the lookout. Geology was never my strong subject but the information is clearly and simply presented. Hike up the hill if you’re in shape, if not you can drive up and take a short walk up to the lookout.
This overlook in Sibley State Park provides absolutely breathtaking views of the park and surrounding area from above the tree-line. The structure is well-maintained and the path to it is beautiful.
