Its been nothing but a diasater since these clowns aquired Clarno Mutual. The only claim I've ever had was 10k when my house caught fire. I went in against my better health and put it out or it would have been total loss. Now they are dropping me after 25 years. Tell the world. I will.
I Have had homeowners coverage from them for years 10 plus years. So the "home office" Made a home visit which was an announced. During this visit they found a "nail pop" on a roof and some curled shingles. Gave me less than 1 month to correct before putting a roof exclusion on policy. Shy of excluding only those roofs they excluded all sections of my roofs despite having brand new shingles installed on 2 sections. Mt morris sent us multiple contradictory letters about changes to our policy and then a notice of cancellation was sent 2 weeks after the cancellation was effective. Why was our policy cancelled? For no payment of premium… Our premium is to be paid through our escrow account. This wasn’t an issue when our policy was carried by mount perry pleasant mutual insurance. My first call is going to be to the bank to make sure they don’t give mt. morris a single cent.
Avoid Mt Morris. Despite filing no claims they increased my premium by 30% after my first year as a policy holder. They charge $25 to make an online premium payment calling it an “access fee.” They do not communicate in a timely manner and everyone I have interacted with has been very unfriendly.
